Today is the second anniversary of China Neican. On this occasion, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for your support over the last two years.

We started Neican to provide China analysis grounded in cultural and historical understanding. Our goal has not changed.

The project has grown faster than anticipated, and it’s ready for the next stage of its life.

In 2022, we want to make Neican sustainable, improve its quality and scope, and put in place new ideas.

To do this, we are making Neican a paid newsletter.

What does this mean for you as a subscriber? All existing subscribers are now free subscribers under this new arrangement. You will continue to receive all our publications free of charge until December 1.

Beyond that point, we will publish a mix of free and paid content.
